One Fine Day

Sat, Oct 30 - Mon, Nov 29, 2021

Curated by Lynne Abrahamson, the aim of this exhibitions was to keep this selected group of artists connected through the medium of thread, by hand embroidering the individual experiences of lockdown.

Receiving a white cotton handkerchief by post, each artist documented how they felt during lockdown.

The handkerchief was chosen because it was an easy to post and because, historically, they have been used as an artistic support to convey deep emotions of love and passion, and political protest. There was also the paradox of creating a permanent artwork on the object used to “Catch, Bin and Kill” the virus.
